Little By Little Films is an independent production company whose critically-acclaimed films and campaigns illuminate brilliant storytelling by and about underrepresented voices, particularly women, LGBTQ+ folks and D/deaf and disabled people.
With credits on Netflix, BBC, Channel 4 and PBS, work on display in Tate Modern and Tate Britain, and clients and collaborators including Netflix, Doc Society, Tate, Hyundai, ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), Wellcome Trust, Royal Shakespeare Company, Media Trust and Royal Court Theatre, we make multi award-winning short and feature length films, and television; executive produce powerful fiction and non-fiction; consult and connect productions with incredible rising talent; mentor and nurture filmmakers; and devise and deliver impactful and engaging campaigns.
Founded in 2011 by Emmy®-winning producer and director Lindsey Dryden – and with bases near Bristol, UK and in Austin, TX – LBL Films is LGBTQ+ and disabled-led, and dedicated to marginalised voices and audiences. We value collaboration and authenticity, and we tell powerful, unexpected and intimate stories with artistry, originality and inclusivity.
Our award-winning productions include Sundance Special Jury Award-winning feature documentary Unrest (2017, Netflix/PBS); Emmy®-winning documentary series Trans In America (2018, SXSW/ACLU/Condé Nast them.); BIFA-nominated narrative short The Forgotten C (2020, The Uncertain Kingdom); short doc Jackie Kay: One Person Two Names (2017, Tate Queer British Art); narrative short Little Ones (2013, nominated Best Producer, Underwire) and feature documentary Lost and Sound (SXSW, 2012).
Our recent campaigns include the FWD-Doc Toolkit for Inclusion & Accessibility: Changing the Narrative of Disability in Documentary Film, in association with Doc Society supported by Netflix, and the FWD-Doc Engagement Pack, in association with the BFI Doc Society Fund.
